Latest Updates from Our Project:

STRETCH GOAL: $50,000 = 100 extra pages
about 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 23, 2019 at 11:49:21 PM

The support for this project has been amazing—we hit our initial funding goal in less than 24 hours. But condensing five incredible years of paintball into one book was never going to be an easy task.

So today, we're excited to announce that if we're able to reach $50,000 in orders by the deadline on August 29, we'll be able to expand the book from 250 to 350 pages, giving everyone an extra 100 pages of photos, interviews and stories

As of right now we've got six days and $8,000 to go to hit the new goal. Here are two ways you can help:

• Take a minute to share the Kickstarter campaign with anyone you know who might be interested

• Kickstarter only allows you to pledge once to the campaign, but you can adjust your pledge to a higher level at any point between now and when it ends (August 29). We've added a few new rewards that are available now.

Anything you can do to help get the word out is appreciated. Our goal is to make the best possible book, and adding 100 more pages of content will make a huge difference.

Thanks again,

—F8MOUS team

Talking P8NT and F8MOUS on The Playing On Podcast
about 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 22, 2019 at 07:19:18 PM

On Tuesday I had the chance to go on "The Playing On Podcast" and talk to Carl Markowski about F8MOUS and the origins of the project, as well as the history of P8NT Magazine. It's a good listen for anyone who wants to know more about the idea behind the book and what we have planned for it.

You can listen to it here, or by searching for "The Playing On Podcast" in any podcast app:

If you enjoy it, there are 75 more episodes where this one came from -- Carl's podcast is a great project of its own.

We're down to the final 7 days of the campaign, and we'll be making a big announcement tomorrow. But for now, listen up if you want to know where the "8" comes from, what exactly a "contact sheet" is, and what F8MOUS is all about.

This is happening
about 5 years ago – Wed, Jul 31, 2019 at 05:34:12 PM

When we first started talking about this project over a year ago, we honestly had no idea what the response would be. Most of us have been away from paintball for more than a decade, and paintball magazines have all but disappeared from the scene.

Would anyone really remember what happened 20 years ago? Would anyone care?

Our best hope was that we could raise a minimum of $20,000 in 30 days, just enough to publish the book in a limited edition.

Thanks to you, we crossed that goal in less than 24 hours.

I promise I'll never doubt you all again.

From all of us, thank you so much to everyone who pledged, shared with friends, left a kind word online or reached out in person yesterday. It was quite a day.

What this means is that this is happening. F8MOUS is going to be published, and all of you will be able to say that you made it happen.

But more than that, what you all made clear yesterday is that this book needs to exist. This story deserves to be told.

Our biggest hope now is that we can reach as many people with this book as possible.

For me personally, the best part of yesterday was reconnecting with so many old friends I'd lost touch with over the years, seeing where they are now, and sharing a few old stories.

The biggest challenge for a project like this is reaching the people who are most interested in it. The only reason we even considered trying it was that we know that paintball is about family, and paintball players love to share a good story.

So please, if there are people out there (maybe even people you've lost touch with or haven't seen in years) who you know would be excited by this book, send the link or the video their way. Now that we've hit the minimum funding goal, the most important thing to us is that everyone who wants a copy of F8MOUS has a chance to get one.

F8MOUS isn't our story, it's yours. Thank you for giving us a chance to tell it, one last time.
